Cannot create an invoice! The VAT rate of the product Zipper Pocket Hoodie was not found on the server! RC:400

This error occurs when the VAT settings are not configured correctly or entirely.

You must check the VAT settings in all platforms Shopify, xConnector and the invoicing service.

 

Invoice service 

  • Set the VAT settings in their platform according to the Smart Bill/ FGO/ BillingoHU documentation 

 

Shopify

  • Shopify > Settings > Taxes: enable ‘Collecting tax

  • Shopify > Settings > Taxes: check the ‘Charge tax on shipping rates’ option

  • Shopify > Settings > Taxes: check the ‘All prices include tax’ option

  • Shopify > Products > select Product X > Variants > Edit: check the ‘Charge tax on this product’ or ‘Charge tax on this variant’ option

 

xConnector

  • xConnector > Profile > Connected services > SmartBill > Invoice preferences

    • ‘VAT payer’- mark the store as a VAT payer in the selector.

    • ‘VAT’ - select a VAT rate; it applies when you activate "Force VAT payer"

    • ‘Force VAT payer’ - helps to overwrite the tax settings in Shopify for all orders that did not have these taxes configured when the orders were received. We recommend deactivating it after generating the invoices.
