Tracking



This module provides user-friendly shipping tracking tools for both you and your customers.

The tracking service routinely checks the status of all shipping labels generated through xConnector every 4 hours daily, by consulting the courier's tracking updates. This information is then synced with both xConnector and Shopify. Depending on the tracking status, you can receive alerts or adjust your orders' fulfilment & financial status.



Go to xConnector > Profile > Preferences > Tracking and check the options you need for the Tracking module: 



Enable tracking


Update Shopify fulfillment status


Update Shopify financial status on shipment delivered


Dispatch order on pick up


Update invoice status on shipment delivered


Email notification on shipment rejected





Enable tracking


xConnector > Profile > Preferences > Tracking > Enable Tracking


Activate this option to obtain the tracking information. 


When activated, our tracking service will query the courier's API to obtain the most recent status of each shipping label. This feature will be effective for all the couriers integrated within xConnector.

Once a shipping label is generated, its status will be refreshed three times daily: at 10 am, 6 pm, and 11 pm.


Whenever xConnector retrieves tracking updates, these will be displayed within the order details in both xConnector and Shopify.


To review the tracking status in xConnector:

  1. Click on the order number.

  2. Click on "Tracking".





Update Shopify fulfillment status


xConnector > Profile > Preferences > Tracking > Update Shopify fulfillment status


Activate this option so you can update the fulfillment status in Shopify.


This option updates the Shopify fulfillment status based on courier tracking events.

To view the delivery status of an order in Shopify:

  1. Click on the order number.

  2. Check the first section of the screen

  3. The tracking information will be displayed near the tracking number



  • Out for delivery - the package has left the final distribution or sorting facility and is currently on its way to the recipient's address.




  • Delivered - The customer received their package




Update Shopify financial status on shipment delivered


xConnector > Profile > Preferences > Tracking > Update Shopify financial status on shipment delivered


Enable this option if you need to automatically update your Shopify financial status to 'PAID' once our tracking job detects a 'Delivered' shipping status on the courier's website. xConnector retrieves tracking information from the courier every four hours.


When a shipping label is marked as 'Delivered', any cash-on-delivery order will automatically be set to 'Paid' in Shopify.



Dispatch order on pick up


xConnector > Profile > Preferences > Tracking > Dispatch order on pick up


Enable this option if you need to automatically set the "Dispatch" flag once the shipment has been picked up by the courier.


Orders will automatically transition from the "In Progress" category to "Dispatched." This allows you to organize your orders based on their tracking status: those still "In Progress" (not yet delivered) and those "Dispatched" (already delivered).




Make sure you deactivate the automatic setting that triggers upon generating the shipping label. This will allow you to exclusively use the option that marks the order as dispatched based on the tracking module.

Create invoice on shipment delivered


xConnector > Profile > Preferences > Tracking > Create invoice on shipment delivered


Enable this feature to automatically create an invoice when our tracking system detects a 'Delivered' shipping status on the courier's website.

An invoice will be generated as soon as the shipment status updates to 'Delivered'.


Ensure you turn off other methods of generating invoices.




Update invoice status on shipment delivered


xConnector > Profile > Preferences > Tracking > Update invoice status on shipment delivered


Enable this feature to automatically update the invoice's status based on the tracking status. 

When the tracking indicates 'Delivered', the invoice status will be set to 'PAID'. This option is applicable for the COD (Cash on Delivery) payment method.



For Card payment methods, refer to xConnector > Profile > Preferences > Default Values > Create Payment.



Email notification on shipment rejected


xConnector > Profile > Preferences > Tracking > Email notification on shipment rejected



When this feature is enabled, you will receive email notifications about refused shipments.

Ensure the courier's API supports this feature. If supported and activated, notifications will be sent to your email.


To verify your email address, go to: xConnector > Profile > Your Account > Shop Address > e-Mail.




Email notification on customer not found at the address



xConnector > Profile > Preferences > Tracking > Email notification on customer not found at the address


When this feature is enabled, you will receive email notifications about shipments where the recipient couldn't be located at the provided address.

Ensure the courier's API supports this feature. If supported and activated, notifications will be sent to your email.


To verify your email address, go to: xConnector > Profile > Your Account > Shop Address > e-Mail.




Save - Click 'Save' to confirm the selected options for the Tracking module. 






You and your client can also view the delivery status on the 'View Status Order' page:






  • The client: can click on View order, link received in the Shipping confirmation 


This email can be configured here: Shopify > Settings > Notifications > Shipping confirmation



  • The shop responsable: Shopify > click on the order number > More actions > View order status page 






Your client can see his orders delivery status also in the account (if he has already an account on your website):
