How to Process a Product Swap
Follow the steps below to process a product exchange after a customer has received their initial order. This process ensures the courier delivers the new item and picks up the old one in a single transaction.
Situation
Product A - already shipped to the customer, who has requested a swap
Product B - needs to be shipped
Solution
Step 1
In Shopify, go to the original order, click on More actions, and select Duplicate order.
Example:
Order #2057 - Product A is Blue Ocean, size 21.
The customer needs to swap it for a Blue Ocean, size 22.
Step 2
Edit the new, duplicate order: delete the product that was previously shipped to the customer (product A) and add the new product they requested (Product B)
Edit
Replace the Product A with Product B
Step 3
Ensure the new order is marked as Paid (this indicates no refund or additional payment is required) or mark it as Unpaid (if there is need to receive a sum for this delivery)
Stept 4
In xConnector, generate a shipping label using the SWAP function (you will find this in the first shipping label generation window - Courier).
Optional: You can add a delivery cost for this shipment by editing the Cash on Delivery field. In this case, the customer will pay this amount to the courier.
With this SWAP shipping label, the courier will deliver the new product (Product B) and will not leave until they have collected the first one (Product A) that will be returned to you
